I hope many of you will attend Komen Idaho’s Second Annual Breast Cancer Symposium on Saturday, October 27th at the Riverside Hotel.
The “theme” of this year’s event is “Moving Beyond Breast Cancer: Life After Treatment”. The keynote speaker is Dr. Julie Gralow who will be presenting on “Optimizing Life After Breast Cancer”. Dr. Gralow is the director of Breast Medical Oncology at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and is a professor in the oncology division of the University of Washington School of Medicine. She has dedicated her life to fighting breast cancer by involving herself in research and caring for patients, has co-authored a book on breast cancer and exercise, and has launched several cancer support organizations. Dr. Gralow is also one of 67 Komen Scholars, an advisory group in breast cancer research and advocacy whose efforts have made significant contributions to advancing the field of breast cancer research.
I will also be presenting a talk on Breast Cancer Reconstruction, focusing on the general process, updates, and controversies. Go to komenidaho.org to find out more.
