Web Log – April 2016 – American Society of Plastic Surgeons Meeting in Las Vegas

Click above for a Video view introduction of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons Marketplace at the 2016 Meeting in Las Vegas.  Yes, it is decidedly amateur iPhone video, but hopefully it will give you an idea of the size and scope of vendors at the meeting.  The actual classes are held in several large auditoriums and in dozens of small classrooms.

I had a good shopping trip for some  overdue equipment purchases like a more powerful headlight and new tech surgical scrubs.  I also  checked in for updates on our website and and VECTRA 3D system.  For the website, I embedding video is easier and I will try to employ this more – perhaps a video welcome or video post op instruction.  Lots of ideas, not lots of time.  For VECTRA , we can now do 360 degree imaging which will be great for body contouring.  We can also display images on our in room iPads to easier demonstrate images to patients.  Our procedure videos supplied by The American Society of Plastic Surgeons were about 10 years old, so we invested in the Understand.com education system.  This is a great system which features many topics and uses quite realistic 3D animation.  It is embedded several places on my web site.  I have added text bubbles in various parts when I feel commentary would be helpful. Patients are encouraged to view videos on their procedures of interest before consultations.

Next time, I will write about surgical updates.
