The patient is a 67 year old man with severe rhinophyma. He had a long history of rosacea and over the five years prior to surgery had progressed to worsening rhinophyma. The patient had lasting improvement from sculpting with a knife. Healing was due to local deep skin elements and no skin graft was required. Rhinophyma is related to rosacea and certain ethnicities, but has no association with alchohol use ( the W.C. Fields myth).
