Case of the Month – July 2016 – Breast Reconstruction with Latissimus Flap and Fat Grafting

The patient is a woman who had bilateral mastectomies with radiation therapy on the left.  She had a difficult skin envelope for reconstruction and required latissimus flaps to allow expander and implant reconstruction.  The patient continued to have superior chest contour deformities that improved with a series of fat grafting.

Post mastectomies
Post latissimus flap and expander – note restricted expansion on the left
Post implant exchange – note superior contour irregularities in the skin envelope
Post Fat Grafting series – note superior contour improvement
