Normal aging, weight loss, and weight gain all affect body aesthetics. For patients who are dissatisfied with their body, both in or out of clothes, body cosmetic surgery may be an important step towards improving their body image.
For most operations, there is a trade-off of scar for improved contour. While scars are permanent, they usually improve with time and hide well under clothes. Given the improvement that body contouring operations deliver, patients almost unanimously find their scars to be a minor issue.
Dr. Wigod also performs liposuction to improve body contour on appropriate candidates. Minimally invasive have been reported in the media and are heavily advertised in the newspaper. While these approaches may be appropriate on selected patients in the hands of an experienced Plastic Surgeon, minimal procedures generally deliver minimal results.
